Behind the Craft

Meet Sal

With nearly 15 years in the Cape Fear region, Sal is more than a contractor. He is your neighbor. Known for his warm personality, high standards, and attention to detail, he brings both skill and integrity to every project.

Sal’s background includes years of experience in custom remodeling and home framing. He is passionate about working with his hands, solving problems, and turning his clients’ visions into lasting results.

He lives in Kure Beach with his wife Lauren and their two young boys. When he is not on the job, you might find him out on his bike, catching waves, or walking his dogs.

With Sal, you are not just hiring a builder. You are working with someone who truly cares.

“…I could tell that Sal knows his stuff.”

“Sal was great to work with. He suggested design changes along the process to improve overall quality of the final project. He built a gabled roof porch onto the back of our house. Being a retired engineer I could tell that Sal knows his stuff.”

Meet Ty

Ty has called Southeastern North Carolina home on and off since 2001. He first arrived as a young Marine stationed at Camp Lejeune, where he was introduced to the building trades as a Combat Engineer. Following an injury, Ty deepened his skills in woodworking through hands-on experience in a local woodshop.

His career path led him to serve as a civilian police officer and later into real estate, where he earned his license in 2017 and eventually launched his own firm. But it was a challenging home renovation during the early days of the pandemic that reignited his passion for building. After being burned by an unreliable contractor, Ty stepped in to manage the project himself, an experience that sparked a desire to return to hands-on work with purpose and integrity.

In 2023, Ty joined Seaside Craftworks, where he’s found renewed meaning in creating and repairing homes in the community he loves. With a strong work ethic and a genuine care for quality, Ty brings experienceheart, and attention to detail to every project.

Seaside Craftworks was born out of a desire to build more than just beautiful structures. We are here to build trust, relationships, and a sense of home.

After nearly a decade in the trades, working with high-end remodelers and reputable framing crews, Sal Serpe realized he wanted more than just a job. He wanted to create a business that reflected his values and served his coastal community.

When his first son was born in 2022, it became clear it was time to take a leap and start something of his own. That same year, Seaside Craftworks was founded right here in Kure Beach with a mission to provide reliable, high-quality craftsmanship paired with honest, neighborly service.

We understand how important your home is, and we are honored to be the team you trust to improve it.
